Green Wave 1" Sanding Discs

I use these for sanding my bowls and, like the title says, they are the best I have found. The scalloped edges work well for bowls and the fact that they are slightly oversized helps position them. They hold up well and the grit seems to last longer than others. The backs are printed with grit # and I don't have to mark them with a sharpie when I get them. Shipping is quick and the ordering process is simple. What more could a guy want?

These are amazing. Suddenly dust collection actually works. I have a fairly good Bosch random orbital sander, hooked up to a decent shop vac— but until I tried these I was always sweeping up sawdust the vac couldn’t catch- the holes in regular sandpaper never allowed enough air flow. That’s all in the past now. And if they ever get a little clogged, you can blow material right back out with compressed air, just your lungs, or even a jet of water. The backing material is super durable, much more substantial than similar offerings from Bosch or 3M. They cut like mad and I think the range of grits beats anything else on the market. Expensive? I am pretty sure the answer is no: just one of these discs, sanding oak, has replaced at least two (soon to be three) packs of “hardware store” discs and it’s still going strong. Stop wasting time and money, and generating a lot of unnecessary waste, and try these puppies. If there’s anything better on the market I haven’t found it yet.

Not sure what they do with the Purple Power sanding disks, but they hold up better than all the rest. I've been a wood worker for 35+ years and have purchased all types of paper and I feel I get at least twice the life from these disks. I turn a lot a American Red Elm and because of the wide growth rings i get a fair amount of tear out, which makes my sanding essential. I highly recommend you give these a try. Oh, and they ship fast!

These oversized disks are just what the doctor ordered, specially for convex forms. Other sanding disks tend to cut into the sides of convex forms. These are great!
