Kodiak Sharpening System

As you look through our Kodiak Sharpening System collection, you will notice that we have switched from the Kodiak MAX to the Kodiak Classic Sharpening System. This change has come about because, from our own experience as well as the testimony of numerous customers, we have found that the MAX system, while more “universal” and able to accommodate a wider variety of grinders, was quite tedious and difficult to set up correctly, especially for those that have never assembled one before. The Classic, instead of a universal MAX base, features a base for a specific individual or specific group of grinders.

Because each base of the Kodiak Classic Sharpening System is designed to specifically fit certain grinders, the degrees of freedom for setup of the Kodiak MAX are not needed, and the setup process is much simpler and more straightforward.

With that, if you already have a Kodiak MAX system, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the design, and once set up, both the Classic and MAX will function identically. The tools rests and slide arm/swivel head assemblies are completely compatible and interchangeable between the MAX and Classic systems without any modifications required.
