These guides come in 15 and 25 degree angles and are used with CBN wheels that do not have grit on the sides. They are designed to ride in the slot and provide support in holding your skews at the proper position for sharpening them on CBN wheels that do not have the grit on the side (Radius Edge and Spartan wheels) You will need to experiment a little as to the proper hand position which suits you the best. These guides are not made to hold the tool but rather provide a guide to maintain the same repeatable angle.
