Axminster Woodturning Long Hole Boring Bit - 8MM

Specifically designed to drill accurate holes in the end grain of wood mounted on the woodturning lathe, the parabolic flute design of this bit clears the chips quickly and prevents chip burn. As with all long hole augers, frequent withdrawing will help to clear the waste and reduce the risk of overheating. Dimensions are 880mm overall with 6.5mm shank and a bit diameter of 8mm at the tip tapering to 7.9mm for clearance. Made in Austria from top quality HSS-M2 steel. A worthwhile accessory is the Long Hole Boring Handle (107156) (245 x 35mm) which is available separately. Made in Axminster from steel with a comfortable rubber grip, this handle will allow accurate hole depth and prevent accidental contact of the bit with your counterbore drive.
